Here is a list of points to help you organize the paper:
- Focus on the American aspect of the cultural group. So again, as an example, you’d not write all about Dominican history and then a small amount about the American. The assignment is to assess the experience of the cultural group in America.
- Look at how they arrived here in America. Now, if doing the American Indian/Native American then obviously you have to focus on their history in America before the European invasion. Also, because there were about 500 American Indian people, you’ll need to focus only on 3 of many.
- Look at the achievements of the cultural group – so if the Jewish Americans are your topic what did they contribute to the American way of life? Another example, did the Italian Americans bring the pizza to America? In short, look for the contributions, the experience of the group, and their impact on American society.
- You can use some examples of famous Americans from the cultural group you look at. This can give some insight into their contributions if you highlight some of the famous or celebrities.
