This Signature Assignment fulfills the Bachelors of Organizational Leadership (BAOL), PLO #2 Communication: Apply effective and efficient communication skills for interacting collaboratively. Be sure to review all rubric criteria prior to submitting your assignment.
Directions
Write a paper explaining and demonstrating effective and efficient communication skills for interacting collaboratively.
Write a 4-6 page paper on your understanding and development of your team communication style through this course. The paper should be very specific; your grade will be determined on how well you demonstrate understanding of the intersection of effective team building and effective communication strategies. The paper should focus on your personal learning, insights and real-world application, which is all based on course concepts. It should also include references to the textbooks, resources and personal assessments instruments. Your paper should be 4-6 pages (not including cover and reference pages) and should follow the APA guidelines. Submit this paper through Turn-It-In by Thursday,11:59pm, week 8. It will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Key Insights Gained (3): How effectively did you articulate new insights (3) gained about communication as it relates to teamwork, team building and conflict management? What did you learn about your own communication habits and growth opportunities? Strengths? What surprised you? What specific actions will you take to enhance your professional and/or personal communication effectiveness as a result of this course?
- Application: How effectively did you integrate differing and even contradictory perspectives and ideas to create and open new and more effective channels of communication (internal and external)? What are your communication strengths that you can enhance and use to your advantage? What are your communication weaknesses and how do you plan on managing those?
- Critical Analysis: How effectively did you demonstrate growth and implementation of different communication strategies with teammates to increase collaboration? How would you characterize your own communication style with teams? How have your past communication habits impacted your team skills?
- Writing Mechanics: How effectively did you present and articulate the relevant and important elements of your learning experiences through the course.
