For this project, you will develop a proposal for a field test to design, implement, measure, and evaluate a problem-oriented policing crime reduction program in a major US city of your choice. Using publicly available crime and demographic statistics, you will apply methods and techniques learned to develop the design of the field test so that if implemented, one could measure the effects on the crime rate.

Submit a comprehensive literature review with 3 sections:

  1. Identify and explain a specific Criminal Justice Problem (e.g. type of crime, a resource need, etc.) or program related to problem-oriented policing.
  2. Research and evaluation in criminal justice (general criminal justice, policing, law enforcement, or crime reduction) that relate to the problem or program identified in Section 1.
  3. Conclusions about applying research and evaluation in problem-oriented policing that synthesizes the information gathered

A literature review is not a simple summary of articles but rather should describe, analyze, and synthesize relevant articles to develop new interpretations and reach conclusions. For this activity, a minimum of 5 articles are required for problem-oriented policing and 5 articles for criminal justice research and evaluation. For sections 1 and 2, you should briefly present the articles, synthesize them, and reach a conclusion. In section 3, integrate the conclusions from sections 1 and 2 to generate conclusions about how research and evaluation can be applied to problem-oriented policing.

Write the literature review in 2000 words of narrative in a Word document. Follow the APA style for editing and citations. Please note that work cited page and cover page words do not count.
