This team-based project centers on examining the nature of and challenges associated with distributed work environments.

·      Requirements:  Cover page must list all team members. All team members are requested to post the final project to ensure a complete portfolio. This does not have to follow APA format. Teams may choose from Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint for summarizing this project.

·      Teams of 4-5 will be formulated for the purpose of this project.

·      Each student within that group will interview TWO individuals who work in distributed work environments using various types of technology. The goal of these interviews is to describe and examine the issues, benefits and challenges faced by individuals working within various organizations, and develop suggestions on what strategies can be most helpful in utilizing a distributed work environment and various technology options.

·      Teams should meet in advance to ensure that the interviews will be from a variety of sources, to have the best representation possible.

·      After collecting these interviews, teams will come together to discuss the common themes and prepare a summary of the main points discovered in the interview process. Specific attention should be given to discussing the nature of telework and the challenges and benefits of working with a distributed work setting, as well as an overview of the way technology plays a role in distributed work forces. A list of recommendations (based on the interviews) should be included in the final project.

·      The team should turn in one document (submitted by all participants through the assignment page) that is created together.
