  1. View the media 3.4 Resource: Jury Trials. (read pages below-screenshots in the attached word doc)
  2. Using your course materials and the Internet, select a news article from the last four to six weeks regarding an upcoming state trial.
  3. In a two-page (500-word) paper, excluding cover and ref. pages, summarize the article, outline the jury selection process for a state case (in the state where you live), and decide whether you are representing the prosecution or the defense.  Include the following information:
    1. First, explain Article 3 of the U.S. Constitution and its importance in the jury system.
    2. In your role, how will you prepare for trial?  What pre-trial activities will you need to take part in?
    3. What steps would you need to take during the jury selection process to ensure that the members of the jury will be fair to your case?
    4. Outline the key points you might use to convince the jury in your opening statements.
    5. Select two verdict options and explain how each option could occur.
  4. In your paper, correctly cite the article you selected in correct APA format.
  5. When you’ve completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit a copy to your instructor using the Dropbox by the end of the workshop.
